David and Melissa had their first date at Harvest in Newtown on January 20, 2024. Two days before, however, a massive snowstorm and ensuing cold snap (think 15 degrees) jeopardized their first date. Thankfully for this story, however, David trudged through the snow to get Melissa roses and drove up to Newtown, and Melissa—true to herself—found sensible high heels to wear. Prior to the date, David declared that it would be either the best or the worst first date. It was the best! They closed the restaurant down: the staff had to turn on the lights and tell them to leave. That week, they had four dates and have been together ever since.
Logistics then ensued. David, who has two sons, Alex (6) and Liam (4), was living in the city, whereas Melissa (and Gracie) lived in Bucks County. Slowly but surely, they combined households, and together now live in Wycombe (and Melissa, with only a few complaints, has given up one closet for David’s work clothes).
It’s been a fun and rewarding ride, and they look forward to meeting the good, the bad, and the boring together.
